Sticky pork ribs

Although it is delicious, I am not a massive fan of pork mainly for health reasons, but every now and then I can really enjoy it. This recipe for sticky pork ribs will make you want to go back in for more again and again!


INGREDIENTS

FOR THE RIBS

  • 2 Pork ribs
  • 500ml Chicken stock

FOR THE STICKY MARINADE

  • 200ml Hoisin sauce
  • 2 Tsp. Five spice
  • 1 Tsp. Smoked paprika
  • 1 Tsp. Soy
  • 1 Tsp. Cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. Tomato paste
  • 2 Tbsp. Honey
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1,5 cm piece of ginger, peeled and grated
  • 3 Spring onions, finely sliced (for topping)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 200c
  2. Wash the pork ribs and put in a deep oven tray
  3. Cover with the chicken stock, tightly cover with baking paper and bake for about 1,5 hours before taking the baking paper off (get rid of any left over stock)
  4. Mix the marinade ingredients (except the spring onion), glaze the ribs with some of the marinade and bake for another 5 minutes
  5. Repeat this process until a thick sticky mess has set on the ribs
  6. Serve with spring onion and some extra marinade
  7. Enjoy!
